FIGHTERS

Petition Body

Hi,

I appear to have lost some fighters. I was warping to the station and docked while the fighters were in space; the fighters were visible and approaching me do dock however despite pressing stop to prevent docking the carrier still docked. When I immediately undocked the fighters were not on grid or visible on scan.

I'm aware that losing fighters due to docking wouldn't normally be cause for reimbursement however after not seeing them at the undock I imediately logged my probe ship and starting to probe the system, after an hour I couldn't find evidence a single fighter even exists. Despite fighters showing in the probe when scanned down they were normal combat drones. The system is relatively low traffic and I believe it would be extremely unlikely someone could scoop all 10 prior to me finding evidence of 1.

I'm wondering would it be possible that a timing issue between the fighters landing and me docking caused them to despawn?

I'd be happy to probe them out, I just don't think they are out there.

I've lost:
6x Draonfly
2x Firbolg
1x Einherji
1x Templar

If there is any chance I could have them refunded that would be fantastic, thank you!

Hi Antisun,

Our logs do unfortunately not cover every action or mouse click made in the game.
The servers would be good for nothing than just logging if that would be the case and so we must limit our logging to the most important actions taken in game.
What is logged is decided by us and based on years of experience we have with EVE.

If you suspect anything in game being bugged, please send our bug hunting development team as a detailed report as you possibly can. Our bug hunters and developers want to receive all reports of possible bugs. You can submit a bug report under the Bug Reporting section on our homepage: https://bugs.eve-online.com/

What actions are you taking to ensure this kind of loss doesn't happen again? Obviously it's a significant loss to me and the lack of logs is disturbing. Will a bug ticket be raised as I still maintain the fighters could not have been stolen/destroyed within the timeframe?

Hi Antisun,

Unfortunately we cannot verify what happened to those fighters as our log don't log every action of players.
They might be taken or destroyed by others, otherwise we should be able to trace them.

I am truly sorry that we were not able to help you further in this case.

There was a spare templar in the Carrier which was not in space at the time the others de-spawned. It is not related to this issue.

While I appreciate that in the interest of fairness you cannot reimburse game losses could you please verify where they went?

Are there records of their destruction or theft or did they just vanish into thin air? They were not traded, not destroyed under my control and the time to scoop 10 fighters would make it next to impossible for them to be scooped without detection as only another (super)carrier could do so.

They were not in space and I wasn't given any chance to retrieve them.

Hi Antisun,

We can find the Templar in your Archon named The Honey Pot. Other fighters are still not able to be traced.
I understand this can be frustrating but we can only reimburse when we can verify it was caused by known bugs or server problems.

We must stick to our policy and be fair to everyone. Thank you for your understanding.

I've confirmed they weren't taken by anyone in corp or any other contact, there were no contacts in system with in the available time that had the opertunity to steal or destroy 10 fighters without detection.

They simply weren't on scan, they did not exist as they should and were not scan/probeable by two competent pilots. This doesn't fall under normal gameplay. If they did exist in system I'd agree and accept it but they were not there and I don't believe I should lose them.

Hi Antisun,

After checking, unfortunately we cannot trace those fighters for you. They should have been taken or destroyed by others.
Please ask around to see whether one of your corp mates or friends has taken them.

As it falls under normal game play, we cannot reimburse those fighters according to our policy.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. It would have been at or around 16:00 eve time on 2010.04.10. I didn't see anyone active in system, there was no one outside the station. After the loss and my initial search Daveincius/Garnet Strife of Shiva and my alt Antidawn joined the hunt with no success.

Please let me know if there is any further information i can provide.

Thank you,

Anti

Hi Antisun,

Thank you for contacting customer support.
Please tell us exactly when you docked and when you undocked, was any one else around you at that time?
